Location, Transport and Community

St Aloysius is conveniently located on the edge of the western and northern suburbs and just 4km from the CBD.

Getting your daughter to our school from just about anywhere in Melbourne is incredibly easy as North Melbourne is well serviced by trains, trams and bus. The ease of transportation ensures that our girls come from all suburbs – in 2014 our students come from 57 different suburbs as geographically far-flung as Sunshine, Werribee, Footscray, Altona, Richmond, North Melbourne, Williamstown, Carlton, Hawthorn and Craigieburn.

The school’s enviable location also provides simple access to many of the excellent learning facilities afforded by the world’s most liveable city. Trips to museums, galleries, parks, theatres, cultural hubs, swimming pools and sporting grounds are literally only minutes away allowing the widest range of learning experiences in the shortest possible time – in effect, ensuring that your daughter spends the maximum amount of her time on the experience and not on the journey.

North Melbourne railway station is a major station that serves the north and west. The Sydenham/Sunbury, Sunshine, Upfield, Werribee, Williamstown/Newport and Craigieburn lines all pass through the station. Macaulay station is one stop from North Melbourne and is only a few minutes walk from the College.
