Be Exhilarated.

There are many profound and fun reasons for students to be involved in Performing Arts, which is why Music and Drama at St. Aloysius College are part of our curriculum in Years 7 and 8. In the Middle and Senior Years, students can choose specialised Music and Drama electives, including Drama, Music, VCE Theatre Studies, VCE Music and VET Music.

Students study Music and Drama in a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages them to take risks, empowers them to overcome challenges, and fosters student-centred learning. Right through the school journey, a fantastic array of Music and Drama opportunities help to support the differing skills and strengths that are within every student.

Music and Drama have helped the school develop a rich and enduring culture in the Performing Arts, it offers an extensive co-curricular program alongside the College curriculum.

Our exciting co-curricular program includes:

  • College Musical Production
  • Orchestral Ensembles
  • College Choir
  • Aloysius Acapella
  • Drama Club
  • Rock Bands
  • Performing Arts Festival

The College Production is a major highlight of the St. Aloysius school year. Students and teachers involved with Music, Dance and Drama come together to stage the annual musical production. Students are given an opportunity to explore and enhance their talents, develop the skills of compromise and negotiation, improve social skills, and personalities and talents are enriched through the interaction involved in the process.

To promote students' musical education and enjoyment of music, the College offers an Instrumental Music Program which provides a pathway to the St Aloysius Ensemble Program. A group of qualified and talented instrumental tutors offer their expertise for free in our Ensemble Program.
