A Tour of Parliament
On Tuesday, our Year 10 Politics students had the opportunity to visit the Parliament of Victoria as part of their Civics and Citizenship curriculum.
Led by our Director of Curriculum Documentation and Reporting, Ms Elisa Litvin (who also serves as President of the History Teachers' Association of Victoria) the excursion deepened students' understanding of Victoria’s parliamentary processes, the history of the institution, and the role of state parliamentarians in a functioning democracy.
With many students soon reaching voting age, the visit sparked insightful discussions around law-making, civic responsibility, and careers in public service.
Experiences like these bring the curriculum to life and help students connect classroom learning to the broader political and social systems they’ll soon be part of.
