Recitation Competition 2025

Dante Alighieri Poetry

We are delighted to share the outstanding results of the 2025 Dante Alighieri Poetry Recitation Competition. From over 2,000 participants across the state, 200 students were selected as finalists after receiving perfect scores from external assessors for their initial recitations.

Nine students from St Aloysius were among those finalists and competed in the final round on Friday, July 25. Each student was assessed by two judges, and four were asked to recite their poem more than once — a testament to their exceptional delivery and composure, placing them among the state’s most accomplished performers.

We are especially proud to announce that Sage Holowka, one of our Year 12 students, was awarded third place in the state. All the students demonstrated hard work, dedication, and a passion for Italian literature, making their participation a memorable highlight of the year.

Congratulations to the following students who represented St Aloysius as state finalists:

  • Xavier Busuttil (Y9)
  • Ruby Chiu (Y9)
  • Lupita Pullen (Y9)
  • Nina Cutuli (Y10)
  • Charlotte Di Mauro (Y11)
  • Helena Carra (Y11)
  • Alyssia Diegmann (Y12)
  • Sage Holowka (Y12)
  • Sedora Tadele (Y12)

This is an extraordinary achievement in a highly competitive field, and we are incredibly proud of each of you.
