From the Assistant Principal

At the College, we understand the importance of offering our students various opportunities to cultivate their leadership skills. We value the importance of leadership roles for students as they play a crucial role in their personal development and overall growth. As a College community, we nurture the leadership abilities of our students by providing them with opportunities to learn, grow and make positive impacts on their school community and beyond. We announced the Year 8–11 Class Captains and House Leaders this week. These students understand that leadership is about more than holding a title or badge, it is about embodying the Mercy values. These Student Leaders will embark on Leadership Development Sessions through Term 1. They will work together to foster a culture of leadership that empowers every student to recognise their strengths as a leader and to inspire them to uplift those around them. These sessions will equip our students with the confidence and capabilities to effect positive change in the College community.

Student Leaders will meet regularly with their Year Level Leader and leadership team members as part of the Student Voice Committee to organise events such as fundraising for a local charity or organising House Events that bring the College community together. Through these activities, our Student Leaders actively foster a culture of collaboration. These students will work together to cultivate a generation of compassionate, resilient and visionary leaders who will make a lasting impact on the College community. Overall, the leadership roles at St Aloysius College are invaluable in helping to shape these young adults into confident, capable, and compassionate individuals who are prepared to make a difference in the world. Encouraging and supporting student leadership is not only beneficial for the students themselves but also for the entire school community.
