Celebration Evening

From the Deputy Principal

Celebration Evening

It is compulsory for all Year 7-11 students to attend Celebration Evening 2025, on Monday 17th November. The event will commence promptly at 6.45pm and information of venue and registration for tickets has already been shared with our parents and carers via ‘Engage’.

Please note, parents are limited to booking two tickets, not including students as they will be seated separately to families. It is still necessary for parents and carers to complete the Consent2Go acknowledgement as soon as possible, which has information regarding the venue and time.

The awards presented at the evening range from Sports ACS competition ‘Most Valuable Player’ as voted by the coaches, through to top academic achievements for each subject at each Year Level. Awards celebrating NAPLAN excellence at Year 9 and co-curricular endeavours across Years 7-11 such as debating competitions, art, fashion prize winners, and state level excellence for languages.

Awards of Distinction are special awards highlighting students’ personal qualities and are in recognition of acts of service. Mercy Spirit Awards, Community Connect Awards, are presented to students showing leadership, courage and kindness in our community as nominated by Pastoral Leaders, teachers and Year Level Leaders.

The importance of acknowledgement is powerful not only for the recipients but for the observing students, the results of which influence individual character, inspire resilience and diligence and impact the broader college culture. The formal, compulsory nature of Celebration Evening needs to be supported by all in our community if we truly believe our College Motto ‘Ad Altiora, Strive for Higher Things’.

Following Celebration Evening, all Year 8 and 9 students will be given period 1, Tuesday morning, as a Study Session, free of scheduled lessons, students will be given quiet, structured, supervised study. As communicated to Year 8 and 9 parents and carers last week, this opportunity is further support for individual preparations for examinations.

The final event of congratulations occurs on campus on Friday 21st November. Farewell Day celebrates academic endeavour and co-curricular highlights from a Year Level perspective. These presentations occur just as these 2025 students progress to Years 8-12, 2026 in the Step Ahead program. Year 11 and 12 Step Ahead program commences November 24, with the Year 8-10 version commencing December 1.
