Royal Children's Hospital Health Alert

From the Health Centre

Welcome back to Term 2. As we come into winter it’s a good time to check your Asthma, Allergy and Anaphylaxis action plans making sure they are current and sending the updated plan through to College Nurse Jodie Laube.

Last week the College Staff had their annual flu vaccinations to help keep the school community safe this flu season, if you are interested in getting a flu vaccination for yourself or your child this can be completed through various chemists or your regular GP

Health Alert from Royal Childrens Hospital:

With measles cases increasing both internationally and locally, it’s best to check if all members of your family have received at least two doses of measles vaccine, particularly if they were born between 1966 and 1992, or migrated to Australia.

Young babies, particularly if they are not vaccinated, are at risk of serious illness, so make sure to follow your child’s Immunisation schedule and talk to your doctor before any overseas travel.

See your doctor if your child develops a rash after having fever, cough, runny nose or red irritated eyes, especially if you have recently travelled overseas or have been in contact with a known measles care.
