From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we come to the end of a very special year - a year where we embraced the inclusive venture of co-education at Year 7 and commemorated 136 years of Catholic Mercy Education in North Melbourne, I would like to extend my thanks to the entire community for their support and thank our staff for the year that it has been.

The Class of 2023 has completed their VCE exams, and I sincerely hope that they will be pleased with their efforts when the results are released on Monday, December 11. Additionally, last week’s Celebration Evenings recognised the students and staff achievements across the year. I extend my gratitude to all parents and carers who attended these events.

On Monday just past, our Years 7 A, B and C classes, as well the instrumental music students performed in front of parents and staff at our second Music Night of the year. It was an amazing evening and I congratulate to all involved.

As they say life is a cycle; we farewell and we welcome. As we say farewell to our Year 12 students, we welcome the graduating Class of 2029 and their parents, who joined us at Tuesday evening’s Year 7 Transition Evening and Parent Session. We are looking forward to these new partnerships which will commence in 2024. Additionally, thanks to the generous donation and thoughtful contribution from Alex Aldis and Meaghan Montgomery (parents of Lachlan and Milly-Rose Aldis in Year 7) owners of FlexiKitch, the staff room is now equipped with some brand new amenities.

As we conclude 2023 Advisory Council meetings, I would like to thank the College Advisory Council and the Finance Committee whose expertise and collegiality is so generously provided to our College. I offer my thanks and my appreciation on behalf of the entire community. I also pay tribute to the work of the Community Connect, to their ongoing commitment and interest, and extend my appreciation and thanks to those who finish their role this year.
