From the Principal

This week we celebrated Catholic Education week.

The theme for this year’s Catholic Education Week is ‘In the light of Christ’. Drawn from the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) strategic plan, MACS 2030: Forming Lives to Enrich the World. During this lent season, “In the Light of Christ”, helps us navigate through uncertainty, advocate for justice, and embody his love and compassion.

Today, March 15, we celebrated St Patrick's Day (which occurs on Sunday), and a number of Year 10 and 8 students attended a Mass at St Patrick's Cathedral with Mr Chesser. The Mass was led by Archbishop Peter Comensoli and was specifically a celebration of Catholic Education.

A number of students this week also participated in the ACS Swimming Carnival, competing against other member schools. I would like to congratulate all participants and also thank them for their commitment to both practice and to their teams. I visited MSAC on Tuesday and was in awe of the talent we have – well done all!

It is my absolute delight to share with you that Sofia Staropoli, of Year 11, has been nominated for an award at this year’s Catholic Education Week Creative Arts Exhibition. I have included Sofia’s work, entitled ‘Passionfruit Flower’, below – amazing painting! Congratulations Sofia.

Last week, the College ran numerous activities, workshops and events to celebrate International Women's Day. Read more here.
