From the Principal

It has been another vibrant and engaging time at the College, and we are pleased to share with our families some recent highlights and important upcoming events.

On Monday June 1st, our students participated in the ACS Athletics Day. Despite wet and challenging conditions, the spirit, resilience and teamwork displayed by our students were truly outstanding. It was wonderful to see students supporting one another and fully engaging in the day.

Events such as these highlight the important connection between sport and wellbeing. Participation in physical activity not only supports students’ physical health but also strengthens mental and emotional wellbeing. Sport builds resilience, develops teamwork, promotes inclusion and gives students a positive outlet for managing stress, while also fostering a strong sense of belonging within the school community.

In this context, we are reminded of Pope Francis’ June prayer intention: “For the values of sport.” The values of respect, perseverance and unity seen through sport were clearly evident in our students throughout the Athletics Carnival. Globally, this message is reinforced as we look ahead to the FIFA World Cup being held across the United States, Mexico and Canada, highlighting the power of sport to bring people together across cultures and nations.

Looking ahead, we are excited to celebrate a very special occasion in our school calendar—the Feast Day of our patron, St Aloysius, on Friday 19 June. This will be a significant day for our College community, beginning with a liturgical celebration reflecting on the life and values of St Aloysius, particularly his commitment to service, humility and devotion to others.

Our annual College production this year is Mamma Mia! This much-anticipated event will showcase the creativity, energy and talent of our students and staff. We warmly invite all families and friends to attend and support what promises to be a highly entertaining and uplifting production.

As we approach the end of term, students will soon commence their examination period.

I encourage all students to maintain positive study habits and approach this time with confidence.

Following examinations, student reports will be distributed at the conclusion of the term. These provide valuable feedback on academic progress, effort and areas for growth, and we encourage families to review these together and celebrate each student’s achievements.

Prayer for Our College Community

Loving God,

We thank You for the many gifts You have bestowed upon our College community.
We are grateful for the energy, joy and spirit shown by our students,
especially through sport, teamwork and shared experiences.

As we reflect on the values of sport,
help us to grow in perseverance, fairness and humility.
May we always support one another with kindness and respect,
both in times of success and in moments of challenge.

We ask for Your blessing upon our students
as they prepare for their examinations and complete their learning this term.
Grant them focus, confidence and a sense of calm.

As we approach the Feast Day of St Aloysius,
inspire us to follow his example of compassion, service and faith.
May we be people who care for others, build community,
and use our gifts to make a positive difference in the world.

Bless our upcoming College production, and all those who have worked so hard to bring it to life.
May it be a joyful celebration of creativity and talent.

We ask that You continue to guide and protect our families,
our staff and our students,
keeping us united in hope, faith and love.

We make this prayer through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
