Concluding the Year

From the Senior Years

In the past fortnight, Year 11 students have undertaken their Year 11 College-based examinations. For students this is a time when revision strategies come to fruition, as well as students’ capacity to manage timed conditions and to sustain their energy across a busy academic period. All of these are important life skills for further study and in the workplace – managing their time and the stress required for optimal performance.

In the coming weeks, Year 11 students will complete their final week of Year 11 classes and then begin their Step Ahead program as Year 12 students as the ‘Class of 2025.’ During the Step Ahead program, students are encouraged to set clear, achievable goals and develop strategies to stay focused and motivated. Consistent planning, time management, and self-reflection are important as part of the VCE journey. Remember, success is a journey—embrace challenges, stay resilient, and celebrate growth along the way.

Another important upcoming Year 11 event is the Reflection Day on Wednesday 20 November. This will include a keynote speaker, Sr Anila Isaac, who will reflect on her learning and spiritual journey and her personal story towards her religious vows in a Muslim context in Pakistan. This will be followed by a student-led Liturgy and finally, an off-site excursion to the Islamic Museum of Australia in Thornbury to deepen student learning of inter-faith connections and compassion that is much needed in today’s current context.

Finally, as Year 11 students conclude their academic year, each Pastoral class is requested to support the St Brendan’s parish food drive. This is an important part of the Advent and Christmas period and an important corporal work in the Mercy tradition and is requested to be completed by Thursday 21 November.

Items are to be long-life food times within date and not opened.

St Aloysius College 2024 Celebration Evening

Monday 25 November 6:20pm
Goldfields Theatre, Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre, 1 Convention Centre Place, South Wharf

Celebration Evening we will return to Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre and come together acknowledging many successes in the areas of academia, sport, cocurricular competition and leadership achieved by our Year 7-11 students.

We invite all in our community to attend this important College event in this exciting facility. It is an expectation that all Years 7-11 students will be in attendance, and we seek your support in ensuring that students arrive on time and are wearing their full academic uniform (with blazer).

Students will be informed prior to the event if they are award recipients, however the details of the awards will not be known until the presentations. During the evening, students will be sitting with their Pastoral groups so please do not include students in your maximum count of the two tickets available per family. Please note tickets are free of charge and whilst we encourage you to book here as soon as possible, additional seats will be released closer to the event.
