From the Year 7 Leader
As the leader of Year 7, overseeing our camp at Benloch Valley in Weekaway was an incredibly rewarding experience. Witnessing the students immerse themselves in the various activities such as archery, yabbying, and the exhilarating flying fox was truly delightful. It was evident that these adventures ignited a spark of excitement and curiosity in each of them. The Year 7 Disco provided a perfect opportunity for the students to unwind and bond in a relaxed atmosphere. Seeing them come together, dancing and laughing, highlighted the sense of camaraderie that had developed amongst them throughout the camp.
What struck me the most, however, was the formation of new friendships among the students. Despite their diverse backgrounds and interests, they embraced each other's differences and formed deep connections. It was heartwarming to witness them supporting and encouraging one another, truly embodying the spirit of community. As we wrapped up the camp and returned home, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in the growth and unity displayed by our Year 7 cohort. The experiences shared at Benloch Valley will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on each student, fostering not only friendships but also resilience and a sense of belonging. I look forward to seeing how these bonds continue to flourish in the classroom and beyond.

Year 7 Level Leader
On the 7th February I arrived to school early and excited to start my adventure at camp. When I arrived to camp, I did thrilling outdoor activities from zip-lining, yabbying and canoeing, to evenings around the campfire and making damper. Every moment was filled with excitement and adventure. And let me tell you, the food was out of this world! From hearty meals to delicious snacks in between activities, every bite was energising and was a taste sensation. Making new friends, conquering challenges, and immersing myself in nature made it an unforgettable experience that I'll cherish forever. I think on behalf of all the Year 7s I can say that we all really enjoyed camp.

Camp was so much fun! I was able to socialize with people and talk to them. I enjoyed the activities, but I wanted to show that I can be more active during times. I felt tired a lot, but I tried my best, and I was able to get good sleep during the night. It was something I could have never experienced at Holy Rosary Primary. Everyone was very kind to me. I hadn't felt that way for a very long time. I always felt like the difference between high school and my primary school camp is that I felt like there were a lot fewer favorites. We were all treated equally and fairly.

With this being my first high school camp I was sceptical. I had new friends (and I barely knew them), a new class and a whole new school. But as I went in further it just got better. Cabins, activities, and the scenery were only some of my highlights. All of the activities were great (except for yabbying) my personal favourite was damper, it was so yummy. I am excited for the next camp and what it brings.
