From Year 10

As assessments, exams, and subject selection are underway, our Year 10 students are focusing on preparing and continuing with their study routines. Wellbeing plays a very important role in maintaining good physical and mental health, which significantly contributes to students' academic learning. The focus for this term is to help our students navigate and maintain good wellbeing so they are equipped and prepared for the challenges they may face in life.

Year 10s are commencing the process of subject selection starting this week. In SAS this week, students will be introduced to subject selection and will have an overview of different pathways. Learning Leaders from various faculties will present to the students an overview of VCE subjects on offer at the College. May marks two very important events on subject selection: the Senior Pathways Parent Forum and the Victoria Careers Expo excursion at the Showgrounds. These events help broaden our students’ knowledge about different subjects and the pathways available for them for year 11 and beyond. Students will make decisions on subjects and areas they want to focus on in Years 11 and 12.

Student Reflections

So far in term 2, the Year 10, 11, and 12 language students returned from international trips to Japan and Italy, which everyone enjoyed. It was a fun and educational experience that everyone will remember. Also, the whole school attended the ANZAC Day assembly, and many students in the musical have been attending rehearsals for the upcoming production of High School Musical. Students have been training for CGSAV hockey on Thursday lunchtimes, and they are very excited for the competition.
Peggy M and Chiara F (10B):
It was exciting to be getting back to school, though our first week felt quite long. We also welcomed a new class member in 10C: Jessica. It has been a pleasure getting to know her and helping her settle into her classes. We are always looking forward to welcoming new students at our school.
