From Year 10
Year 10 students commenced their mid-year examinations last week. While preparing for exams can be stressful for many students, it is important to develop a good study plan and routine. Students are encouraged to target the topics required for the exam, make a list of key concepts to revise, review past assessments and notes, and highlight questions and concepts they are unsure of. Most importantly, study the subjects one by one and take breaks in between. This is also a very good opportunity for students to gain experience sitting for an exam and preparing for their senior years. Students are always encouraged to do their best, and that’s what matters.
The Year 10 Ad Altiora Award is introduced to acknowledge students who have displayed Mercy Values and brought a positive culture to their peers and school life on a daily basis. Congratulations to Stevie Mari Jabines, Nhung Nguyen, Jessica Nguyen, Arabella Beaumont, Athiei Gor, and Mischa Fahey for receiving the award in this cycle.
Congratulations to all Year 10 French students who have completed the French Poem Competition. Students have done a fantastic job and made incredible achievements. A special mention to the following students who received excellent results in the competition: Athiei Gor and Stevie Mari Jabines.

During our Year 10 Future Me classes, we have been looking at different future career pathways and how they work. We have also been preparing to choose our Year 11 subjects for the upcoming year, and since this is the final exam week, we have also been studying really hard for our exams.

For Reconciliation Week, we attended an assembly as a school. We had a guest speaker who informed us about how Indigenous Australians fought for civil rights and how important it is for Australians to support underprivileged Aboriginal children. In maths, we recently completed our last assessment before our exams. We are now revising for our Year 10 mid-year exams in class. Best of luck to all!
