Achievement and Opportunity

From Year 10

Year 10 students commenced their mid-year examination this week. Exams could be stressful for many students, it is important to develop a good study plan and routine to prepare for the studies. Students should target the topics required to study for the exam, make a list of key concepts needed to revise, review past assessments and notes and highlight questions and concepts they are unsure of. Most important of all, study the subjects one by one and take breaks in between. This is also a valuable opportunity for students to gain experience taking an exam and preparing for their senior years. Students are always encouraged to do their best and that’s what matters.

A number of Year 10 students who joined students in other year levels represented the College to attend the ACS Athletics Carnival. Congratulations to all students who participated. The Year 10s were placed 5th overall despite the rain as our best ever Year 10 finished. Our sole medal winner was Chloe Korras in the 90m hurdles. Chloe also won two bronze medals in the 100m and 200m. There were also medals in high jump for Matilda O’Mahoney and Nicolas Truong winning silver and bronze respectively. Well done!

On Thursday the 21st of May, a group of Year 10 students went to the Victorian Trades Hall and successfully completed their White Card certification. A White Card is the nationally recognised safety qualification required for anyone wanting to work on a construction site. It provides essential knowledge about workplace health and safety, hazard identification, risk management, and safe work practices. For students considering future pathways in construction, engineering, trades, and related industries, obtaining a White Card is often one of the first steps towards those future careers.

We congratulate the following students for taking this important step:
