Growing With Confidence

From Year 7

As we approach the end of Semester 1, it has been wonderful to see our Year 7 students continue to grow in confidence, independence and resilience as members of the St Aloysius College community. The transition from primary to secondary school is a significant milestone, and we are incredibly proud of the way our students have embraced new routines, expectations and opportunities throughout their first semester.

A key focus this term has been developing organisation, accountability and positive learning habits. Students are continuing to build their confidence in managing their learning, navigating new challenges and taking increasing responsibility for their academic progress and wellbeing.

We are also pleased with the positive relationships that continue to develop across the cohort. It has been encouraging to see students demonstrating kindness, respect and inclusivity, while supporting one another both inside and outside the classroom. These connections are an important part of creating a strong and supportive Year 7 community.

Student success continues to be recognised through our commendation system, which celebrates students who consistently demonstrate our College values through their effort, attitude and contribution to school life. We are proud of the many students who have received commendations this semester and encourage all students to continue striving for their personal best.

As a reminder, students are expected to take responsibility for wearing the correct school uniform each day. If there is a need to be out of uniform, communication from home is appreciated so that we can support students while maintaining our College standards.

We have also recently reinforced expectations regarding the appropriate use of student laptops. These devices are valuable learning tools and should be used for educational purposes during the school day. We thank families for their ongoing support in promoting responsible digital citizenship. If parents become aware of gaming websites or other inappropriate sites being accessed by students, please contact me directly so that these can be referred to our IT team for review and, where appropriate, blocked from the College network.

To celebrate a successful first semester, all Year 7 students are invited to a Celebration Morning Tea on Tuesday 23 June at recess. This will be an opportunity to acknowledge the achievements, growth and positive contributions of our students as they complete their first semester at St Aloysius College. We look forward to celebrating this important milestone together.

Thank you to our Year 7 families for your ongoing support, partnership and encouragement throughout the semester. Your involvement plays a vital role in helping our students thrive, and we look forward to continuing to work together during the second half of the year.
