From Year 8
As Year 8 draws to a close, the memories of the year and the enriching experiences will serve as a solid foundation for students' academic and personal futures. Through camps, excursions, incursions, ASC sports, and co-curricular activities, this year level has grown, gained confidence, and moved forward.
A standout memory from this year is the Year 8 camp experience at the Torquay campus, which reinforced the idea that venturing beyond comfort zones can be both enjoyable and educational. Activities emphasising teamwork, communication, and listening strengthened existing friendships and created new connections among students who may not interact regularly. Surfing, team challenges, beach carnival activities, and moments of relaxation all contributed to fostering unity and teamwork, leaving an indelible mark on the year.
I am immensely grateful to the Year 8 pastoral leaders—Elisa Litvin, Dianne Martin, Chris Georgiou, Brad Hall, Brian Brooks, and Sr Anila Isaac—for their unwavering guidance, support, and encouragement provided to our Year 8 students throughout the year. Your commitment and nurturing have significantly influenced the lives of our students.
As my tenure as Year 8 Leader concludes, I want to express sincere gratitude for your unwavering support and dedication this year. Mentoring these students has been a privilege. My heartfelt wish is that each student continues to unfold into their authentic selves, realise their academic aspirations, and foster the treasured bonds they share with friends and family. May they confidently embrace the future, knowing their unique journey will lead to remarkable accomplishments and cherished moments.
As we step into the Christmas season, it is a chance to make lasting memories, with our families and friends, cherishing moments of love and laughter. As the new year approaches, let us use this excitement to fuel our enthusiasm for the journey ahead. We are eagerly looking forward to welcoming everyone back for an amazing year ahead.

Year 8 Leader
In 8A, Year 8 has been outstanding. After camp, we became much closer by exchanging ideas, going on a pyjama walk together, and posing for pictures with two well-known actors. We also should not forget about our costume-wearing for school occasions like Mercy Day and St Aloysius Day! We have also taken part in a lot of language-related activities, such as plays and competitions, and we have learned a lot along the way. We will never forget what it was like to be a part of 8A, and being the class co-captains, and I hope we all stay this close.

This year in 8B has been incredibly eventful and enjoyable. Our 8B class is a welcoming and diverse group, showcasing a wide range of talents and interests. As class, we embarked on an unforgettable Torquay camp, where we enthusiastically embraced activities like surfing and nature walks, we have been able to foster our love for leadership and helping others. As class co-captains, we have relished the opportunity to assist and help organise in school events, connect with our classmates and teachers, and lead the morning prayer. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our subject teachers, especially our pastoral teachers, Mr Hall, Mr Georgiou, and M. Fethers, and our Year 8 Team Leader - Ms Stangherlin, for their guidance and support throughout the year. In summary, being part of 8B has been an incredible experience, and we eagerly anticipate the adventures that await us in Year 9!

We like being members of 8C because everyone in our class is funny and comes to class with a positive attitude. We are a very inclusive class; everyone is so friendly and approachable. We are very positive and feel accepted. Every day is exciting with lots to discuss with our peers. As class co-captains, we have had the privilege of leading this dynamic group, and it's been an incredible experience. We want to extend our gratitude to our pastoral leaders, Ms Brooks and Sr Anila, for their support and guidance. Feeling welcome and safe is a testament to the strong sense of community in our class. We cherish 8C and consistently find joy in our time together, regardless of the subject at hand.
