From Year 8
Year 8 Reflection Day Hamper:
On the 11th April, during the Term 1 holidays, Ms Anastasiadis delivered the food hamper the students put together during Year 8 Reflection Day. Father Thang was very grateful to receive a generous donation from the College and wanted to express his thanks, especially to the Year 8 students who donated.
Religious Education:
In Religious Education, the students are currently learning about the early Christian Church, particularly at the challenges they faced. Hopefully from learning about these experiences, the students can develop a deeper understanding of the courage people demonstrate when they maintain their beliefs in the face of adversity.
Science:
Students are continuing their learning around cells. Last week, Ms Geary provided a practical demonstration of the digestive system to 8E, enabling students to further their understanding of the functions of the human body.
ACS:
Students have been training hard for their first week of competition games starting this Thursday for a few of the A teams. Team selections have been made, and it was awesome to see the effort of the year 8 students during trials. Fixtures for all teams will be starting officially next week.
Well done to all students who have been selected in one of the ACS intermediate A teams.
Below are two student reflections from two of our year 8 class captains:
This week at school, year 8 has had a great week. A highlight from this week for me was having my first training session with my netball team for ACS because I felt that I got to be a part of something that I really love doing, while being active and having fun.

This week at St Aloysius year 8 has been a great week. My Favorite part was cooking class where we made nachos, I love cooking class because it requires patience and teamwork which are both important skills
