From Year 9
The Importance of Co-Curriculars.
Some of the most valuable growth opportunities happen beyond the classroom through co-curricular involvement and House activities. For Year 9 students, this year marks an important milestone—the halfway point of their secondary schooling. Through participation in activities such as debating, choir, performing arts, visual arts (both manual and digital), e-sports, and table tennis, students can build confidence, develop new skills, and strengthen their connection to the College community.
At this stage, involvement is about more than participation—it is about leadership. Year 9 students have the opportunity to set the tone within Houses, support younger peers, and lead through their actions, attitude, and encouragement of others.
House spirit at St Aloysius College is about far more than competition. It is about contributing to a positive and inclusive community where everyone feels valued. As the year continues, I encourage all Year 9 students to continue being involved, take initiative, and begin shaping themselves into the leaders they will become in the years ahead.
