Mercy in Action
There are lots of activities currently underway for our Mercy in Action programs across the college.
Immersions
Our Year 11 students are continuing their formation sessions towards the Cambodia Immersion in August. We are also researching
options for Indigenous Immersions in the Grampians for future years, as well as options to return to Cambodia and continue the important work over there.
Refugee Week
10 Year 8 and 9 students will be selected to participate in the Refugee Week
Seeds of Justice
The Senior Seeds of Justice Program took place at Amberley Conference Centre this week on 20-21 May. Students explored the theme of Human Rights, and learned about Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery.
There will be opportunities for Year 9 students to join the Anglesea Conference in August, and Year 7 and 8 students will be invited to attend the Junior Seeds of Justice Conference, to be hosted at St Aloysius later this year.
AMSSA
Our AMSSA student representatives will travel to OLMC Heidelberg on Wednesday 27th May to continue to learn about global issues through the Mercy Lens, and how we can work together across Mercy schools to create lasting change.
Year 10 Mercy in Action Program
Students not participating in ACS or VET continue to enjoy the opportunities presented on Wednesday afternoon in the Mercy in Action Program.
Last week students travelled to the Big Issue Headquarters on Collins Street to participate in an educational workshop to learn about Homelessness and the important work of the Big Issue.
