Mercy in Action
Social Justice Club
Our Social Justice Club continues to meet every Thursday at lunchtime, bringing together students from across all year levels who are passionate about making a positive difference. It’s wonderful to see such strong engagement, and we look forward to welcoming a new group of Year 7 students in the coming weeks as they join our growing community of changemakers.
School of St Jude – Meet Caren
We are excited to introduce Caren, the student we are currently co-sponsoring through School of St Jude. Our students will soon begin corresponding with Caren and her classmates through letters, helping to build meaningful global connections and understand more about the lives of the children and their families. Fundraising efforts are continuing this term to support this partnership and continue to fight poverty through Education.

Cambodia Immersion 2026
St Aloysius has been invited to join students from OLMC and the Academy of Mary Immaculate to participate in the Cambodia Immersion this August. For 2026, this is open to Year 11 students only. We held a Cambodia Immersion Information Evening this week. The next step will be student interviews, which will help determine the final group of participants for our August trip. We look forward to sharing more updates as preparations continue.
Project Compassion – Year 8 Fundraising
As part of Project Compassion, our Year 8 students are running weekly fundraising stalls every Wednesday at lunchtime in support of Caritas Australia. These student-led initiatives are a fantastic example of compassion in action, with funds raised going directly towards supporting vulnerable communities in Tanzania, Fiji, Gaza and Bangladesh.
Mercy Student Leadership Formation Day
Our College Captains Fadzai and Amelie, Social Justice Prefect Athiei, and Faith & Values Prefect Aklesia recently attended the first Mercy Student Leadership Formation Day, held at the Mercy Hub. The day welcomed Student Leaders from Mercy Schools across Victoria and provided valuable opportunities for reflection, connection, and leadership development, grounding our student leaders in Mercy values as they begin their year of service.
