Project Compassion Stalls

We have wrapped up the Year 8 Stalls for Project Compassion, raising essential funds for Caritas Australia, supporting vulnerable communities in Tanzania, Fiji, Gaza and Bangladesh. A huge thank you to all the Year 8 students, supported by their families, who baked delicious creations to ensure that all funds raised could go straight to the incredible work of Caritas this lent. Thank you also to the Pastoral Leaders, Madeline Vines and the Food Technology and Administration staff who supported these initiatives.

Cambodia Immersion Program – August 2026

I am very pleased to announce that Lila Dymott-Khuong and Heidi Trollope were successful in their applications to participate in the Cambodia Immersion Program, travelling in August this year. We are joining forces with the Academy of Mary Immaculate and OLMC to participate in a Cultural and Outreach Immersion Program in Cambodia.

Immersion experiences are structured trips to domestic and international locations offered to students as an opportunity to engage in direct service activities, participate in experiential learning, and make educational site visits – while living in the communities that they are serving.

We attended our first Preparation Session yesterday at the Academy where students commenced their research projects to learn more about the Khmer Rouge, Cambodian people and culture, traditions and festivals. We finished with a trip to Samut Cambodian restaurant to discover the incredible cuisine.

AMSSA Student Conference
Australian Mercy Secondary Schools Association

Across four afternoons throughout 2026, AMSSA student delegates from Years 10 and 11 will participate in virtual and in-person immersive experiences that will enhance their knowledge and understanding of the Mercy charism, and empower them to be courageous leaders within their own communities.
The first session took place on Wednesday 25 March at the Academy of Mary Immaculate. The in-person section of this included students from the Academy, OLMC, St Aloysius and Mt Lilydale. St Aloysius was represented by eight Year 10 and 11 students who are passionate about Social Justice.
