Mission and Ethos
For the final two weeks of the school year, students at St Aloysius College are involved in our Step Ahead program. This is where they progress to the next year level, familiarising themselves with their new classes, subject teachers and year level areas, including new lockers. It also equips students with two weeks of curriculum studies in their subjects for the following year.
Additionally, in concluding their current year, students from 7-11 participate in our Farewell Day. During this day, each year level holds a separate assembly to say goodbye to the year that has been and acknowledge the accomplishments and achievements of students. This is an add-on to our Celebration Evenings which took place earlier in the week, where academic, co-curricular and sporting awards were presented.
Each Year Level also conducted a liturgy together which was led by the students. This was an opportunity to reflect in prayer on all the events and outcomes of the past year as well as ask God for guidance and courage for preparing students for the next phase in their secondary schooling. Students also led hymns and readings that linked with our college theme of being a Shining Light to all, not only for this year but in all years ahead.
