Performing Arts Update

This year, I am excited to unveil a range of innovative and engaging initiatives for the students of St Aloysius College, harnessing my new role as Head of Productions and College Events to expand opportunities in Performing Arts, including our inaugural Year 7-9 junior production in Semester 2. As the school continues to grow and evolve, we will build on the success of our instrumental program, offering students access to private lessons, ensembles, bands, and other enriching experiences. Through performance evenings, lunchtime concerts, and ensemble soirées, students will have numerous opportunities to share their talents with the college community.

2025 has already begun with great promise, as rehearsals for our college musical, Grease School Edition, are already underway, breathing new life into the classic story of Rydell High School's senior class in 1959. This vibrant musical is set to reimagine the quintessential 1950s high school experience, balancing a nostalgic tribute to the era's idealism with a thought-provoking commentary on the enduring aspirations of high school students to challenge norms and forge their own paths. At the heart of the narrative lies the captivating romance between Danny, the charismatic leader of a gang, and Sandy, the charming new student in town, who must navigate the complexities of their summer romance within the intricate social landscape of school, where peer pressure and social cliques threaten to test their love. Can Danny find a way to stay true to himself while winning the affection of the captivating Sandy, and in doing so, inspire positive change and self-discovery among his peers?

More information about dates and ticket sales for Grease School Edition will be communicated with our Aloysius Community very soon.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the new members to the Performing Arts team, Ms Kelsey Holden, Drama teacher and Performing Arts Leader, as well as Ms Abby Hoffman and Mr Tiernach O’Reilly, our new Music teachers, who will undoubtedly bring fresh perspectives and expertise to the classroom.

We look forward to a rewarding year and sharing the talents and skills of our students.
