Hockey Junior State Championships
Throughout the school holidays three of our Year 7 students participated in the Junior State Championships for Hockey. Charlotte Fitzgerald (pictured) won the under 12 tournament with Ivy Daniels coming in second place. Polly Beaumont competed int he under 14 tournament also coming in second place. All students performance exceptionally well and formed friendships with other students from across the state.
Our ACS Cross Country Championships are upcoming with less than one month till the big day. Run Club continues to grow from strength to strength with over 60 students participating in a weekly 2,3 or 4km run around Royal Park every Thursday morning. The inclusivity of the club has allowed students to challenge themselves at their own pace and build strong friendships over the past year.
Victorian Athletics League Annual Awards
Over the school holidays our Head Sports Coach Declan Gall was celebrated by winning the Male Performance of the Year Award at the Victorian Athletics League annual awards evening. Declan was nominated for his impressive double victory at the Bendigo Gift over 400m and 550m back in March. "Winning the double was very special. Having to race five times in 24 hours was a real challenge but we had put months of hard work in and I'm just glad it all came together on the day. Hopefully this can inspire some of the kids to continue on their own running journeys."
