Marcus has played a significant role as Goal Keeper in the Year 7 Boys Soccer B team. Opposition players have struggled to get past him and he continues to be a force in front of the goals each game. Marcus also represented the College recently at ACS Athletics where he came 4th in Shot Put.

CGSAV AFL
The recent CGSAV footy tournament saw our senior students showcasing exceptional skill and determination throughout the day. With impressive performances and strategic plays, they secured several notable victories on the day. The team’s hard work and dedication paid off as they progressed through to the Grand Final, a testament to their talent and teamwork.
In the highly anticipated Grand Final match against St Mary’s, our team fought valiantly but unfortunately fell short by 8 points. Well done to all students who competed and represented the College on the day. Also a big thanks to Coach Ms Turner for her efforts coaching this team!
ACS Table Tennis Spotlight
A Team
This term I have had the privilege to coach nine Year 7 students for the Girls ACS Winter Table Tennis. I have seen such an improvement in their playing performance from when they first started playing and training. Students have learned how to set up the tables and nets, score, serve and they have learned the different rules between the singles and doubles. The students have gained a great deal of confidence playing different schools. So far, they have played Overnewton Anglican College twice as they played an away and a home game. We also played Westbourne Grammar. It was also a great opportunity for the students to play at Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC). Many students had not been there before and enjoyed playing in such a prestigious venue.
Here is what the students have to say about their experience of Table Tennis.
For my winter ACS sport, I chose Table Tennis. I have enjoyed playing doubles and practising after my games with Emily. I much prefer playing singles over doubles as I love playing doubles.
Geogia G
For my winter ACS sport, I chose Table Tennis. I enjoyed singles matches as the rules for doubles are a little complicated, but overall I really enjoyed all the gameplay.
Honor M
I choose Table Tennis for my ACS Winter Sport. I found Table Tennis to be a fun and an easy sport. I played Tennis so I found the skills from Tennis transferable to Table Tennis. I saw it as Tennis with a table. If I get to choose it again in Year 8, I would defiantly choose it
Violet P
I really enjoyed playing ACS Table Tennis with my friends and against other schools, even though we didn't win many games it has been fun and interesting. It has also helped me improve my skills
Iris S
I enjoyed playing Table Tennis with my fellow peers and against other schools. Even though I did not win all my matches it was still a great experience and I had fun bonding with my opponents and my friends. Even the training sessions were really fun. We had drills of balancing the balls on our bats and versing each other. I learned how to do amazing hits to trick my opponents. The experience has been awesome.

B Team
This term, I have been privileged to coach the ACS Table Tennis Girls’ B team, who have gotten the season off to a magnificent start! For many of the girls, this is their first time playing table tennis competitively. Whilst we got off to a tough start against our rivals, Westbourne, the team have performed superbly in our away games against St Leonards and Loyola College, including a near wipeout of Loyola at our last meet.
It has been great to see the team really band together and support one another, particularly in several of our Doubles Matchings, as players have to both coordinate and communicate with their pairing in order to successfully defeat the opponent – not a difficult feat to achieve after only being grouped together for a few weeks.
The team should be congratulated on their recent successes and camaraderie!
Some of the players had this to say about their recent games:
So far this term, our away games have been very successful, and our home games have been challenging and close in points. I got to experience an hour-long singles match against one of our most challenging teams: Westbourne; however, the team works well together to overcome these challenges.
Madeline H
We have been having a blast in table tennis so far this year, enjoying our games and trying our best.
Alyssa F
Table tennis this year has been very fun, as we won all of our away games and made a lot of good memories with our friends.

ACS Tennis Spotlight
At St Aloysius, the ACS Tennis program not only provides opportunities for skill development but also cultivates a passion for the sport among students. The program consists of:
Summer Season
- Year 7 Girls
- Intermediate Girls (2 teams)
Winter Season
- Year 7 Boys
- Intermediate Boys
The Year 7 Boys Tennis team are coached by Ms Milosovska who is a keen tennis player herself! This team serves as the foundation of the program, introducing young athletes to the fundamentals of the sport and igniting their enthusiasm for competition. The Year 7 Boys Tennis team started off the season slow with 2 defeats but have since found some form winning their last two matches.
Our Intermediate Boys Tennis team are coached by Mr Miller. With the introduction of new racquets, Mr Miller assures his team their improvement in performance is correlated with the new racquets! The boys have been training on Tuesday mornings which I’m sure is the real reason for a spike in performance. The Intermediate Boys B Tennis team sit second on the ladder with 2 wins and a loss.
We look forward to watching our tennis teams continue to improve throughout the rest of the Winter Season!
Year 7 Boys’ ACS Tennis has been full of excitement and entertainment - here is a brief overview of the competition so far:
Round 1 saw the St Aloysius Boys’ tennis team get off to a slow start, during which Westbourne secured a convincing win. While it was not the outcome they had hoped for, our St Aloysius boys would not be scared off so easily.
Our tennis stars slowly started to find their groove by Round 2, however faced a second consecutive loss, this time against Overnewton on their home turf. Nonetheless, a 7-4 sets loss was nothing to be ashamed of.
By Round 3, the boys were building momentum and were hungry for a win. This time, they would taste it. A 9-3 sets win against St Michael’s sure did taste sweet, but could the boys back it up in the next round?
Round 4 saw a dramatic re-match against Overnewton. The two teams battled it out at our home ground at Maribyrnong Tennis Club. The St Aloysius boys fought with a vengeance, and this time they would be crowned as winners, securing a nail-biting 7-5 sets win.
Well done to all the boys and girls competing in this term’s ACS Competition, you’re supported by your peers, families and teachers through and through.
