ACS Finals
There was a buzz around school as ACS Grand Final week approached. With eight teams competing, hope was in the air to bring back trophies to St Aloysius. Last Tuesday it was our junior students who shone, winning an incredible six trophies.
All teams played with school spirit, exceptional teamwork and produced courageous performances worthy of their wins. All coaches are extremely pleased with the Year 7's this term.

Feeling inspired, it was the Year 8s and 9s who stood up on Thursday with our Boys A Soccer team the sole representative in a Grand Final. Despite finishing 4th on the ladder they battled through a tough semi-final vs Overnewton to face an old rival in St Leonard's College. They played with resilience, determination and after a hard-fought battle emerged victorious, winning the game 2-0.
An incredible way to cap off the most successful winter sports season St Aloysius has ever had within ACS. Huge congratulations to all students who participate every week, attend early morning training sessions and give it their best shot. The hard work is paying off!
Student Spotlight
Sophie Ezzy - Year 7 Basketball
Sophie was the standout player of the ACS Basketball A division. She led the scoring charts and consistently delivered high performances to guide her team to victory. Moreover, her leadership and teamwork skills allowed the whole team to improve which was crucial in the grand final.
Kibunja Kiarie - Year 9 Soccer
Kibunja captained the Soccer A team to victory, building on their success from year 7. His strong leadership skills throughout the season ensured all players were held accountable. Kibunja made sure that his teammates attended training and led by example setting a high standard for effort and attitude. His clean sheet in the Grand Final was a testament to his ability as an exceptional defender on the field.
Owen Elliot - Year 7 Basketball
During the July holidays Owen competed at the Victoria 3v3 State Qualifiers. His astounding talent helped his team qualify for the Junior State Championships which are being held later this month. As 3v3 basketball continues to grow in prestige and popularity around the world, this is a huge achievement for Owen. We wish him good luck for the upcoming competition.
Upcoming Opportunities
Rowing
Essendon Rowing Club have opened an expression of interest for an upcoming Learn2Row programme during the school holidays. Available for students in years 8-11, students will receive expert coaching, and an opportunity to try a new sport.
