Visiting Artist
On Thursday 12th March, our Year 10 Art 3D students had the exciting opportunity to work with visiting artist Nick Modrzewski. Originally from Melbourne and now based in New York, Nick is a contemporary artist whose practice spans sculpture, painting, and mask-making.
During the session, Nick delivered an engaging artist talk, sharing insights into his creative journey and professional practice. He also demonstrated his use of unconventional materials, including thermoplastic masks, offering students a firsthand look at his techniques. Having studied at the Victorian College of the Arts, Nick is gaining increasing recognition from collectors and within the contemporary art world.
This was a fantastic opportunity for students to connect with current artistic practice and learn directly from a working artist, enriching their understanding of pathways within the arts.
