August 2026 will hold a significant place in the history of St Aloysius College. In just a few short weeks, our community has celebrated important milestones, remarkable student achievements and the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the life of our College.

Frayne
This year's Frayne Speech Festival brought 14 Mercy & Mercy affiliated School from across Australia together for a day filled with powerful words, brave voices and outstanding performances across debating, public speaking and voice choir.
Mercy in Action
Our collaboration with the Rotary Club of Central Melbourne has kicked off again with the first BBQs of the season.
ACS Public Speaking
On Monday 3 August, three St Aloysius students represented the College at the ACS Public Speaking Competition
VCE VM Excursion
As part of their VCE VM Literacy studies, students recently stepped outside the classroom to explore the world of publishing and podcasting through two hands-on workshops.
DAV Debating
Term 1, 2 and 3 saw 29 students from across Year 9 to Year 12 participate in the Debaters Association of Victoria (DAV) Essendon Region competition.
Australian Mathematics Competition
The first cohort of students sat the Australian Mathematics Competition in 1978. Once known as the Westpac Mathematics Competition, the AMC has remained Australia’s premier mathematics problem-solving competition for almost 50 years.

From Year 7
As our Year 7 students move further into Term 3, there has been a noticeable shift from simply settling into secondary school to developing the skills, independence and learning habits that will support them throughout their secondary education.
From Year 8
There is a point in every school year when the novelty wears off, the work starts piling up and the finish line can feel a little further away than expected.
From Year 9
Year 9 is an important stage of students' development, as they begin to take greater responsibility for their learning, relationships and future pathways.
From Year 10
It's been a busy and exciting few weeks for our Year 10 students, who have been actively involved in a range of excursions, competitions, and cross-year level activities.
From the Senior Years
The excitement was high, with students eager to use the new spaces. There is something enticing about the ‘box fresh’ smell of new pain, carpet and desks. The campus is an outstanding facility. I hope some of the images capture a sense of the new space.
