From the Principal

Next Tuesday, 8 August, is the Solemnity of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, the Melbourne girl canonised in 2010. St Mary MacKillop was famous for saying Never see a need without doing something about it, and many of our students recently lived up to this.

Young Mercy Leaders Pilgrimage

Over three days, Bethany Johnston 11C and Hannah Kennedy 10B, participated in the Mercy Education Young Leaders Pilgrimage.

Emerging Leaders Program

World Youth Day

St Aloysius teacher Mary De Bono is currently in Europe, attending the Emerging Leaders Program. Below she reflects on her experiences so far, and shares photos of her extraordinary experiences, including a session with Pope Francis at the Vatican.

An Interdisciplinary Approach

STEAM

STEAM education aims to equip students with a well-rounded skill set that combines scientific and technical knowledge with creative and artistic thinking, encouraging them to become critical thinkers and problem solvers.

Sport Update

Celebrating Student Success

Dante Alighieri Poetry Recitation Competition

It is with great pleasure that we share the news of Anna Maria D’Onghia and Sienna Perez-Quintela's success in the Victorian State poetry recitation competition. Both Year 12 students were awarded second place in their respective categories - Italian Australian and Non-Italian. Their remarkable dedication and hard work leading up to and during the competition were truly impressive, and this experience will undoubtedly be a highlight of their final year at St Aloysius.

Victorian Bands' League

State Solo Championships

We are thrilled to extend our warmest congratulations to Harrison Brink (Year 7) who recently achieved remarkable success at the Victorian Bands' League State Solo Championships.

From the Health Centre

As we are in winter, keeping healthy is imperative for the community and ourselves.

From Community Connect

Seussical

Seussical JR. was performed to over 1000 audience members with sell-out shows, we are so happy to have taken you on our adventure to Whoville and the Jungle of Nool.

From Year 7

As always, the B Block has been a hive of activity this fortnight: Our Year 7s have been busy with ACS, sharing their learning with their year 8 Mentors and learning all about French culture.

From Year 8

Congratulations to the newly elected Semester 2 Year 8 Class Co-Captains! We wish them all the best in their leadership roles. As we all know, our lives either shrink or expand depending on the courage and willingness to step out of our comfort zones.

From Year 9

From Year 10

It has been a very busy fortnight at the College for Year 10 students as they had Reflection Day, a workshop in Nourish, assembly, excursion, Production, Italian competition and CGSAV Football and Volleyball tournaments.
