Foods Around the World
Our Year 9 Food Technology students recently had a fantastic time on two excursions that brought their Foods around the world unit to life!
One group headed to Mercato Centrale, where they soaked up the sights, smells, and flavours of authentic Italian cuisine. They explored the food hall, chatting with friendly vendors about their craft and inspiration of their food stalls concept. And, true to form, the Smash Burgers were once again the crowd favourite even with all that amazing Italian food on offer!
Meanwhile, our other Year 9 class spent an afternoon exploring the Queen Victoria Market, discovering an incredible mix of global cuisines. Students enjoyed wandering through the colourful stalls, trying tasty samples, and sharing lunch together in the market’s lively atmosphere.
Both excursions were an absolute highlight of the semester, a wonderful chance to connect classroom learning with an experiences and, of course, enjoy some delicious food along the way!
