From the Principal

Last week, on Tuesday, June 3rd we had the pleasure of welcoming the parents and students of Year 7, 2026 for our Information session.

It was most encouraging to witness the strong attendance and the genuine enthusiasm of those preparing to commence their educational journey at St Aloysius College next academic year.

On Tuesday, 17 June, students undertaking Units 3 and 4 studies will sit the General Achievement Test (GAT). On this day, students in Years 7 to 11 will be allocated a study day to support their learning, while College staff will participate in a Professional Development Day.

Preparations for 2026 are in progress, and our senior students will shortly be receiving detailed information to guide their subject selections for Units 1-4.

In addition, on Monday 16 June, we are looking forward to celebrating St Aloysius Day. This significant occasion provides an opportunity for our community to come together in reflection and gratitude for the rich heritage and values that underpin our College.

The day will commence with a Mass, followed by other activities designed and planned by our College Prefects for all students and staff to enjoy and celebrate the day.

Congratulations to all staff, College Prefects and all students for their input.

The month of June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The date changes each year because it is celebrated on the Friday after the Corpus Christi octave, or the Friday after the second Sunday after Pentecost. This year it will be celebrated on Friday, June 27.

In this Jubilee Year of Grace, an invitation is extended to all our families to join the Archdiocesan Corpus Christi Procession on Sunday, 22 June, beginning after the 11am Mass at St Patrick’s Cathedral, making their way through the CBD and concluding at Federation Square.

This is a special and meaningful opportunity for our entire Archdiocese—Parishes, Schools, and families—to come together in joyful witness to the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. I hope many of our parents can join.
