From the Principal
As we reach the end of another school year, it's remarkable to reflect on how each year, whilst following familiar rhythms, creates its own unique story.
I wish to recognise every student for what they've accomplished this year and express my hope that 2025 has been rewarding for them all. On their behalf, I'd like to thank our St Aloysius staff for their continued care and commitment to providing enriching experiences for our students.
Our Annual Celebration Evening on Monday was a wonderful occasion—a time to both celebrate and reflect as we recognised students across all year levels for their hard work and commitment. It was an evening enjoyed by students, parents, staff, and guests alike.
As we look ahead to 2026, I want to acknowledge several staff members who will be moving on from the College. We extend our heartfelt thanks and best wishes to Emma Turner, Jordan Miller, Grace Forslind, and Zoe Leonard. We wish you every success in whatever comes next.
Today, at the commencement of Step Ahead, our 2026 VCE students will be receiving a gift from the College to mark the commencement of their senior studies and to signify the significance of their role as the College’s final all-girls cohorts.
Students will soon receive this year's College Yearbook, showcasing the many achievements and memorable moments from 2025. I'd like to thank Jessy Hodgson and Madeline Irvine from our Communication and Design Team for creating such a wonderful publication.
This Sunday, 30 November, marks Advent Sunday—the beginning of both the liturgical year and the Advent season. As a school grounded in the Sisters of Mercy tradition, this is a meaningful time for us to prepare our hearts for Christ's coming, celebrating His birth while anticipating His return. The Advent wreath's themes of hope, peace, joy, and love resonate deeply with our Mercy values, calling us to live out compassion, justice, and service throughout this special season.
As we prepare for the season of giving and celebration ahead, may we show compassion to those who are struggling, offer hospitality to those who feel alone, and have the courage to stand for justice in our world. May we serve others with generous hearts and treat all we encounter with respect.
