A warm welcome back

From Year 9

A big welcome back to the Year 9 students for Term 3 and the beginning of a new semester. I hope all students had a restful and enjoyable break and are ready for another exciting term of learning and growth.

A new semester is a fresh opportunity for students to reflect on their achievements from Semester 1, set new goals, and embrace new challenges. Whether it's improving organisation, participating more in class, joining a new extracurricular activity such as Run Club or Chess Club or striving for personal bests, every day is a chance to make progress.

Establishing positive routines early in the term will help students set themselves up for success over the semester. I encourage Year 9 students to:

  • Arrive at school on time and prepared for learning.
  • Keep track of assessment dates and homework using the school diary
  • Ask teachers for help when needed.
  • Stay organised by keeping books, devices, and learning materials up to date.
  • Arriving at class with all required materials.

As workloads increase throughout the semester, maintaining good wellbeing is also essential for Year 9 students. Students are encouraged to:

  • Get enough sleep each night.
  • Stay active and spend time outdoors.
  • Take regular breaks from screens.
  • Connect with friends and trusted adults.
  • Reach out to a teacher, Year Level Coordinator (Mr Sullivan), or Wellbeing Team if they need support.
