ACS Sport Spotlight
Basketball
As we dive into the heart of the season, our players have been demonstrating exceptional talent, dedication, and teamwork both on and off the court.
Year 7 teams:
Under the guidance of our skilled coaches Tom Crowle and Dion, our three Year 7 boys' teams have been putting in the hard yards during training sessions. Their commitment to improvement and unity has been truly inspiring to witness. Despite a loss to Overnewton in their first ever ACS match, we look forward to watching them grow throughout the season.
Intermediate teams:
Likewise, our Intermediate level boys' teams, led by coaches Adam Valladares, Chris Georgiou, and Dion, have been displaying remarkable growth and determination. Their passion for the game and willingness to push themselves beyond their limits have been evident in every practice session and game.
In a particularly exciting turn of events, our Intermediate E team secured their first-ever victory against St Leonard's. This momentous win not only showcases the progress and potential of our players, but also underscores the importance of perseverance and teamwork in achieving success.
Tennis
At St Aloysius, the ACS Tennis program in Summer Season consists of 3 teams. One Year 7 Girls team at the Year 7 level and two intermediate teams A & B at Year 8 and 9.
Our focus has been on fostering a culture of learning, improvement and sportsmanship. From mastering the basics to refining advanced techniques, our students have shown remarkable progress. The Year 7 Girls team has been a shining example of enthusiasm and determination. Despite some players being relatively new to the sport, they are quickly improving their skills thanks to Ms Milosovska's knowledgeable coaching.
Our Year 8 & 9 teams have demonstrated resilience and growth since the beginning of the year. With each match, they have shown increased confidence and skill on the court. Ms Turner, Ms Prentice & Declan Gall are the Intermediate coaches who have been promoting an environment where our girls support and encourage each other regardless of wins or losses.
We look forward to the journey ahead with our ACS tennis program!
CGSAV Sport (Years 10-12)
Training has commenced with Ms Martin on Thursday afternoons for our CGSAV Indoor Cricket Intermediate & Senior teams, who will compete on the 26th March.
