Celebrating Student Success

From the Assistant Principal

Our recent Student Assembly brought the whole College together to celebrate a wide range of student achievements, activities, and milestones that have taken place throughout the semester. It was a vibrant reflection of the learning, leadership, and community spirit that continues to shape our school community.

The assembly began with reflections on the Overseas School Trip and the Year 10 Outdoor Education Camp, where staff and students shared highlights of each trip. Updates were also provided on the meaningful work completed through Mercy in Action and Project Compassion, showcasing our students’ commitment to service and social justice.

A special moment of recognition was given to the recipients of the Education Perfect Awards. The College also acknowledged the impressive efforts of our Model United Nations participants recognising their thoughtful engagement with global issues and diplomacy.

Students from Years 7 and 8 were congratulated for their participation in the Reading Challenge, celebrating their growing passion for literacy. Recognition was also given to students who completed their White Card training. The energy and teamwork displayed during the Mercy Student Leadership Dragon Boating Activity was highlighted showcasing the leadership and collaboration demonstrated by our student leaders.

One of the most anticipated acknowledgments of the assembly was the presentation of Student of the Semester, awarded to students who exemplified excellence in effort, attitude, and achievement. This was followed by Sports Acknowledgments, recognising students who represented the College with pride and determination across various sporting events. The House Athletics Results were announced by the House Prefects, sparking friendly excitement as students celebrated their House achievements with the overall winner being Scully with some very impressive House Points scored. To conclude the assembly the cast of the upcoming College Production ‘Mamma Mia’ took to the stage to showcase their amazing talents and gave us all a sneak peak of what will be an amazing show preforming the song Money Money Money!

The assembly was a powerful reminder of the diverse strengths within our student community. Congratulations to all students who were acknowledged, and thank you to the staff who continue to support, guide, and inspire them.
